This piece was created from a news article about the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. I used that as a starting point to explore what these events feel like in real time, not just how they’re reported.
By layering headlines with text messages, the design shows both the public narrative and the private fear happening at the same time. The red figure disrupts the composition, while the rest pulls from a desaturated, editorial tone.
The goal was to reflect how quickly these tragedies become normalized and to create something that makes you stop instead of just going past it.
